The International Diploma in Risk Management is a continuation of the International Certificate in Financial Services Risk Management or the International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management .
The certificate is set at a difficulty level equivalent to a master’s degree. Students must have obtained either the International Certificate in Financial Services Risk Management or the International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management, which cover modules 1 and 2, to pursue the International Diploma in Risk Management. Management by examination or APL is required before progressing to modules 3-6 of the diploma.

- Unit A: Developments, approaches, processes, standards, definitions, and categories under risk management
- Unit B: Risk contexts and identification methods and techniques
- Unit C: Risk prioritization and qualitative analysis methods and techniques
- Unit D: Quantitative analysis methods and techniques, probability and impact, risk
modelling and risk evaluation
- Unit E: Risk control methods and techniques and risk financing.
- Unit F: Insurance, monitoring, testing and resourcing risk controls and project risk
management
Module 4
- Unit A: Corporate governance, risk oversight, audit, regulation, and compliance
- Unit B: Strategic planning, leadership, roles and responsibilities and stakeholder expectation management
- Unit C: Risk reporting, roles, and responsibilities in respect of reporting, data, analytics and communications and re-evaluation after an event
- Unit D: Risk-based decision-making analysis and techniques, and problem solving
- Unit E: Risk management skills development and training, and conflict management
- Unit F: Organizational culture, corporate social responsibility, and conduct and reputation risk
Module 5
- Unit A: Organizational and social resilience
- Unit B: Business continuity management and business impact analysis
- Unit C: Crisis management and contingency planning, crisis communication
- Unit D: The psychology of risk perception, attitude, and behavior
- Unit E: Societal risk principles, management, perception, and resourcing
- Unit F: Core attributes and nature of global risks, and black swan predictability
Module 6
- Unit A: Research and investigation processes
- Unit B: Introduction and use of literature review in research
- Unit C: Research and methodologies deployed into risk assessment studies
- Unit D: Introduction to proposal content development and structuring
- Unit E: Ethics and permissions in research project management
- Unit F: Regulations, protocols and conventions for project writing and presentation
- Duration and study effort: Spanning 6-9 months, requiring 180-200 study hours per module. Students have up to three years to complete all diploma modules.
- Assessment process: Evaluation through online assignments for modules 3 to 5, with two written assignments per module. The final module involves a risk management proposal and project, tailored to the student’s chosen topic and field, with specialist evaluation.
